EDvance College provides access to several databases that are available to students virtually, at any time. These databases connect students with thousands of academic research resources to aid with coursework research.

Academic Search Elite

A multidisciplinary database of more than 2,200 full text scholarly journals and magazines. Over 75,000 videos from the Associated Press are also included.

Education Source

Education Source provides full text for more than 1,800 education-related journals, 550 books and monographs, education-related conference papers, citations for over 4 million articles including book reviews and over 100,000 controlled and cross-referenced names of educational tests. Coverage in Education Source spans all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and also includes educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education and testing.

ERIC

ERIC, the Education Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and research. The database provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. Content includes journal articles, research reports, curriculum and teaching guides, conference papers, dissertations and theses, and books dating back to 1966.

Course Reserves

EDvance College professors may request specific resources be put on reserve for their students. These resources can be accessed by students by filling out our access request form. Current items placed on reserve can also be seen via our list below.

Our EDvance College Librarian is available to support students during regular library hours. To request support via Zoom or email, please fill out the Library Reference Form to schedule an appointment.

Meet our librarian

Bridget Dew, M. Ed., M.L.S 
Ms. Dew is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University, Texas Christian University and Texas Woman’s University. She loves her adopted home state of Texas. She is a third generation teacher, who believes "Reading is Fundamental". While teaching reading, in 3rd ward she decided to become a librarian. When Ms. Dew isn’t working; she enjoys time with her husband and children.
