Empowering Educators: Our First Spanish Family Childcare Cohort

We are thrilled to announce we will be launching our very first Spanish Family Childcare cohort—an innovative program designed to honor the home languages and cultures of our educators while creating a pathway to a degree in Spanish for San Francisco’s Hispanic Family Childcare Providers Network.

This initiative is more than just a program; it’s a commitment to uplifting and empowering family childcare providers who play a vital role in shaping young children’s early learning experiences.

On January 16th, our team hosted an application event to introduce the program and support providers in submitting their applications. It was an evening filled with inspiration, community, and a deep sense of purpose. We had the honor of welcoming trailblazing leaders like Esperanza Estrada and Elena Ramirez, whose dedication has paved the way for family childcare providers in our communities.

One of the most powerful moments of the night was seeing things come full circle. Jennifer Ventura, one of our exceptional faculty members, shared her personal journey with the attendees. As the daughter of a family childcare provider, Jennifer grew up immersed in the very community this program supports. Now, she will be teaching in a program that uplifts the caregivers who shaped her own path—a true testament to the impact of generational leadership in early childhood education.

We’re deeply grateful for the amazing team who hosted tonight’s event and works every day to make these accessible pathways a reality. Together, we’re building something that honors the legacy of so many mothers and caregivers—past, present, and future.

Here’s to creating opportunities that reflect the strength and dreams of our communities. Thank you to our amazing team Amy Crown, Adriana Magaña, Nayeli Hurtado Vega, Anahi Torres Andrea Cruz, Ana Enriquez Mejicanos, Jennifer Ventura and everyone who helped make this moment possible.
