EDvance College was honored to take part in the 1st Annual ECEPTS Network 2-Day Retreat, hosted by Early Care & Education Pathways to Success (ECEPTS). This convening brought together leaders and advocates who are utilizing Registered Apprenticeship as a vehicle through which to expand opportunities for early childhood educators, foster collaboration, and strengthen the workforce.

ECEPTS has played a key role in elevating the importance of apprenticeships and creating spaces for thought leaders to share best practices. The retreat reinforced the value of knowledge-sharing and relationship-building, highlighting the collective effort needed to develop sustainable pathways for early childhood professionals.

During the convening, Associate Director of Workforce and Partnerships Anna Wolde Yohannes participated in the panel "Walking the Walk: Centering Equity," alongside Dr. Joya Chavarin from Berkeley City College. Additionally, President Lygia Stebbing facilitated a discussion on "ECE Apprenticeships Leading to BA Degrees – Strengthening Partnerships to Support the ECE Workforce," exploring strategies to expand degree pathways for early childhood educators.

EDvance College continues to build and strengthen partnerships in Alameda County and beyond. Lygia and Anna met with partners from Berkeley City College, YMCA of the East Bay, Oakland Head Start, Alameda County Office of Education, and Oakland Unified School District to deepen collaboration and explore opportunities for expansion into other counties.

As we move forward, EDvance College remains committed to working alongside ECEPTS and our partners to enhance professional pathways, support early childhood educators, and advance a more equitable and accessible workforce.
